Fenerbahce indignant over the Madrid commision paid to Arda Guler's father

Real Madrid won the race for Arda Güler with a last-minute breakthrough that the rest of the competitors, including FC Barcelona, could not cope with. Los Blancos agreed a transfer of 20 million euros fixed plus 10 million euros in variables with Fenerbahçe despite the fact that the young player's termination clause was 17.5m. According to some media reports, Fenerbahçe made an economic effort because the player asked that his team be well remunerated.

In Turkey, however, they are not at all happy with Güler's entourage. According to journalist Toni Juanmartí, the Arda family will earn more money than the fixed amount Fenerbahçe will get for the deal. The striker's father has secured a commission of 15 million euros in addition to the eight million euros his son received for the signing on bonus, a total of 23 million. In Istanbul there is indignation over these sums.

The feeling at Fenerbahçe, according to the source, is that Güler's father played on Barça's interest to obtain the highest possible commission without taking into account the interests of the club that had put his boy on the radar of the best teams on the continent.

As we have reported in SPORT, Deco returned from Turkey a fortnight ago with an agreement with Fenerbahçe, who kept the trump card of keeping the player for an extra year on loan. The Barça sporting director, however, was surprised when he met with Arda Güler's entourage and was told that the player did not wish to remain in his country. Deco then had the feeling that he had been 'sold' at the top.
