The Real Madrid midfielder had been quiet to this point

Finally, the first words from Fede Valverde after the Alex Baena case broke out. The Uruguayan Real Madrid player, when asked by 'Gol TV' at the end of today's training session, acknowledged that he felt "better" emotionally.

"I've been supported by my family, by the people of Real Madrid, by all the people who support me in the street," said the midfielder.

Fede Valverde added "it is something to be grateful for". His words came after the now infamous incident with the Villarreal player that could lead to a very strong sanction.

The punch that the Merengue player threw at Baena at the end of the last Real Madrid-Villarreal match is in the hands of the police after Baena reported him.
