The centre-back's deal with Madrid expired this week and he will join PSG for free

Sergio Ramos will join Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal. The former Real Madrid captain reached an agreement with the French club on Thursday, according to RMC Sport.

Ramos wanted a two-year deal to make the move to Paris on a free transfer after his Madrid contract expired and he has achieved his objective.

The centre-back has accepted PSG's offer, spurning Premier League interest from Manchester City and Chelsea. Bayern Munich were also linked.

The agreement was quickly reached after Rene Ramos, the player's brother and agent, flew into Paris on Thursday to step up negotiations.

Talks were already advanced and the only thing to finalise, beyond little details, was the length of the contract and whether the second year would be guaranteed or optional.

Ramos must first pass a medical but that should happen in the coming days, with PSG keen to add leadership and experience at the back as they look to win the Champions League for the first time ever.

According to the newspaper ABC, Ramos will be paid around 15 million euros net in each of his two seasons with the French club.
