Elche 0-3 Real Madrid: Benzema celebrates Ballon d'Or with goal

Real Madrid beat Elche 3-0 on Wednesday to temporarily move six points clear at the top of LaLiga. 

Fede Valverde, Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio were all on target as Carlo Ancelotti's side extended their unbeaten start to the LaLiga season to 10 games. 

Valverde opened the scoring in the 11th minute after Benzema had a goal ruled out by VAR. 

Madrid had two more goals ruled out, one for Benzema and another for David Alaba, before they finally wrapped up the points in the second half. 

Celebrating his Ballon d'Or triumph, Benzema made it 2-0 and Asensio completed the scoring late on. 

Madrid's lead over Barça is now six points, although the Catalans have a game in hand against Villarreal at Camp Nou on Thursday.
