Jose Mourinho is Real Madrid's alternative should they lose patience with coach Zinedine Zidane, according to a report in El Mundo on Monday.
Madrid lost top spot in La Liga at the weekend when they were beaten by Mallorca and travel to Galatasaray this week looking for their first win in the Champions League this season.
Defeat in Turkey would leave Madrid's Champions League campaign hanging by a thread and could bring about an opening for Mourinho, who's been out of work since leaving Manchester United last December.
According to the report, the Portuguese coach is keen to return to Los Blancos and has his bags packed in the case he is called upon at short notice.
The return of Mourinho would see a revolution at Madrid, who have not been consistent this season and are now trailing Barça in La Liga after the weekend's results.
