The Real Madrid forward's reportedly reached an agreement with the tax office

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has reached an agreement with the tax office for his alleged tax fraud, according to reports in El Mundo.

Ronaldo, 33, has accepted a suspended sentence of two years and fine of 18.8 million euros, although the final details still need to be finalised, agreed and signed off.

The news comes just hours before Ronaldo's Portugal side kick off their World Cup campaign against Spain in Sochi on Friday.

The agreement comes after a Spanish state prosecutor claimed Ronaldo failed to pay 14.7 million euros on image rights earned between 2011 and 2014.

With this agreement, though, Ronaldo gets the tax office to reduce considerably the fraud initially attributed to him (to 5.7 million euros). The rest of the fine, according to the newspaper El Mundo, is made up of fines and interest.
