El Confidencial: Real Madrid's dressing room angry
Marco Asensio leads a group of indignant players who believe they deserve more respect
In the Madrid dressing room they are annoyed. They know the departures of Zinedine Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo and - to a lesser extent - Kovacic, have been blows. However, per El Confidencial this Saturday, the players think they themselves are being undervalued by people around Madird and the fans. They have won the last three Champions Leagues and are not happy at predictions that Atletico Madrid might finish above them this season.
Marco Asensio is one of the most annoyed. And after CR7 leaving, he is the one who stands to benefit with more minutes. He seems to have taken the lack of fans at the league opener against Getafe personally, the worst attendance Madrid have had in La Liga since before Ronaldo arrived.
On the other hand, the clan of Spanish players - Ramos, Carvajal, Isco, Asensio, Nacho etc, are backing new coach Julen Lopetegui. They know that Bale taking a step forward can give the team new impetus. The squad is optimistic, even though those outside of the dressing room do not believe in this Real Madrid.
