Kiko Casilla has the chance to make his case to be Real Madrid's No.1 in the absence of Keylor Navas, but the goalkeeper's given off insecurity and has made errors, such as the one for Malaga's second goal last weekend. According to El Confidencial, this run of games has seen Madrid decide that it's time to put him on the market.
Previously, there was no problems in having him as back-up. The odd time he had to fill in for Keylor, he did OK. But now he has had to take on the gloves for a longer period of time, the problems have arrived. The mistake on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu, the murmurs in the crowd and the faces in the president's box have seen the decision taken to allow him to leave. He has played 34 official games for the club throughout three seasons.
Madrid plan to sign a new goalkeeper for next season, with the current favourite Kepa, who has still not renewed with Athletic Club. If they find an exit for Casilla, Navas will remain with the team, although Zidane's plan, according to El Confidencial, is to promote his son Luca as second choice goalkeeper.
