Los Blancos have always emerged victorious against the Basque minnows

Eibar and Real Madrid, who will face each other on Saturday at Ipurua, have met four times in the league there and on each occasion the visitors have been victorious, without the Guipuzcoans having even earned a point at home.

In these four matches, the hosts have only managed to score two goals, and interestingly, the scorers have been two men from the defence, Iván Ramis and Rubén Peña.

For their part, Madrid have celebrated 12 goals at Eibar, divided into two lots of four and two lots of two.

If there is any good news for Mendilibar’s men, it’s that their black beast is no longer at Madrid.

Of the 12 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 5, two of them penalties, and only once was he left without a goal at Ipurua, on March 4, 2017, when the Madridistas won 4-1, with two goals from Karim Benzema, one by James Rodriguez and another from Marco Asensio.

It is striking that the only time Madrid have not won at Ipurua was in the Copa del Rey, when Eibar were still in the Second Division, with José María Amorrortu in charge.

That was January 7, 2004, when a young Iker Casillas produced one of his best matches, stopping everything that came his way, despite which Eibar earned a draw, losing 2-0 at the Bernabeu in the return with goals from Figo and Ronaldo.
