Ronaldo, 33, has now scored in each of his last seven appearances and has scored 17 times in his last 10 matches.

Madrid edged an early storm to take the lead when Ronaldo fired home from inside the penalty area.

Eibar had the majority of the ball in the first half, but failed to take their chances against a Madrid side who were perhaps still coming down from the midweek win against Paris Saint-Germain.

The home side remained on top in the second half and got back on level terms when Ivan Ramis headed in from a corner.

Inui then missed two chances to give Eibar the lead and Madrid, or Ronaldo, rather, ensured the Basque side were made to pay.

The Portugal forward continued his impressive calendar year when he headed home a Dani Carvajal cross inside the final 10 minutes.

Despite making a slow start to the season, Ronaldo has now scored 33 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions.

Madrid temporarily move to within four points of second-placed Atletico Madrid, who host Celta Vigo on Sunday.

Eibar, meanwhile, remain eighth after losing just their third home game in their last 12 -- against Atletico, Barcelona and now Real.
