Zidane wants Hazard to lead his new project at Madrid but if Chelsea refuse to negotiate, he'll turn to Fekir instead

The transfer saga involving Eden Hazard appears to be reaching its conclusion. When Zinedine Zidane returned to the dugout at Real Madrid, he didn't waste any time in preparing for the future. The coach has already been in contact with Chelsea's Belgian star.

Following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure, Zidane wants a new man to lead his project at the Bernabeu. The Chelsea man is the chosen one and, according to 'OK Diario', Hazard has said "yes" to joining Madrid in the symmer. Zidane's return is thought to have been key behind his decision.

HAZARD WANTS THE MOVE

It's no secret that Hazard dreams of wearing the famous white shirt of Real Madrid. The Belgian forward has already agreed personal terms on a five year deal and a €16.5m per season contract.

With the "OK" from the player, it's now time for Madrid to agree a fee with Chelsea, who will demand a huge sum for their main star.

FIFA BAN COMPLICATES MATTERS EVEN FURTHER

Chelsea have recently been hit with a two-window transfer ban which might see them reluctant to let Hazard leave. Hazard's existing deal runs until 2020 and if he continues to reject new offers, there's really no reason for Chelsea to cash in. And less so if they're unable to bring in a replacement.

Madrid's initial offer was 80 million euros but Chelsea demanded €114m. If they don't decide to sell Hazard it could see them have an extremely unhappy player in their ranks during a tough season.

'L'Equipe' claim Madrid have a Plan B in place should Hazard prove too difficult to sign. That alternative is someone who faced FC Barcelona recently, Nabil Fekir, and he too would love to work with his fellow French man at Real Madrid.
