His brother and agent, Rene, says there has been no call from the club yet

More words than actions surround Sergio Ramos' contract renewal at Real Madrid. His brother and agent, Rene Ramos, has told Radio Marca that there is still no news and that the club have not come up with an offfer, although he doesn't anticipate any problems.

"Football is full of surprises but the intentions are good on both sides," the agent said, who didn't hide his desire to reach an agreement. "We hope that he will retire at Real Madrid, that's his dream and I understand it's also the club's."

For the moment, there's no proposal, although after the game against Eibar, with a Ramos goal thrown in, the club's director of institutional relations, Emilio Butragueño, bet on him staying: "We want him here for many more years because he's one of the greats in the club's history, he's a legend and we are delighted with him."

Ramos, 34, is in contract until 2021 and would sign a one-year extension but is waiting for the clun's offer. One of the reasons he's desperate to stay is to play in the new Bernabeu, with work already underway.

For now, he has to wait, but as his brother says, "as of today we haven't spoken at all but there's no need for alarms, the moment the club considers right, we will start to talk."

Meanwhile, Ramos is celebrating his wedding anniversary this week:
