The sports journalist wasn't holding back when he spoke about Los Blancos to Sport

Famous radio journalist José Ramón de la Morena, who has a show on Onda Cero, spoke to Sport about Real Madrid and Spanish football, sincerely and honestly. Here are some of his comments...

How's this season looking?

An exciting season, it's the best league in the world. The best players are here, Messi, Griezmann and Bale.

But Cristiano has gone.

At 33. Him leaving is no problem for Madrid.

Do Madrid win there then?

When you lose a great player you never win if you don't bring in another,  but yes, in the dressing room they are winning.

Are they a better team?

We have to see. What is true is that they have a better coach. We'll see if he has the same luck as Zidane, but Lopetegui is better prepared.

An exciting summer...

Atletico have reinforced the most. Griezmann's No to Barca is what can make them compete with Barca and Madrid.

He announced it on 'The Decision'. Is the Media under threat?

We're always under threat. Footballers feel under siege but they don't appreciate that we give them a huge voice. Reporters in the mixed zone a re humiliated by the player the club wants to give them. It's degrading. La Liga is what it is thanks to the media and doesn't stop evolving.

From evolution came VAR...

It's on point. There will be far fewer mistakes. That said the bad refs will still be bad refs.

La Liga in the USA?

It's an interesting market. The best thing would not be a league games because you should't hurt the fans. The Super Cup would be better.
