"Every player wants to play, but you have to work hard," Marcelo said

Real Madrid left-back Marcelo has insinuated that teamamte Isco is not working hard enough to earn his place under new coach Santiago Solari.

Isco has not started a game under Solari and was not even included in the squad against Roma this week.

"Every player wants to play, but you have to work hard," Marcelo said. "I'm not anyone to give advice, we're old enough, parents, and we all know what we have to do."

WORK AND IMPROVE

Marcelo added: "It's happened to all players. You have to work. I am not saying Isco doesn't, but this is football. Look at where you are falling short and improve."

Isco's situation with coach Solari overshadowed the win over Roma, which earned Madrid top spot in their group.

"We want to be first in every competition and we wanted to continue like this in the Champions League until we reached the last 16," Marcelo said.
