The player wants to stay but is not playing regularly

Dani Ceballos is not happy at Real Madrid with how he he's been treated by coach Zinedine Zidane. The Frenchman is holding back of the best talents in Spanish football, who once again showed his potential playing for Spain U21s this week. The midfielder is so frustrated that he's considering leaving this summer.

"My situation is not an easy one," he told Cadena Ser after leading Spain U21s to a 5-3 win against Ireland, with Borja Mayoral, another player forgotten by Zidane this season, scoring a hat-trick. "I will decide my future at the end of the season."

The former Real Betis players has gone over two months without playing a full game. He has played just over 700 minutes of first team football this season. He added: "I would have like to have played more, but you learn a lot. It's helping me mature."

At Betis he looked set to the top but the brakes have been put on. Ceballos admitted he would have liked to have returned to the Seville club in January as he grew tired of watching from the stands.

"[Betis coach Quique] Setien phoned me various times at Christmas to help them out for five months, but it wasn't possible because of the Federation," he revealed.

However, he's going to keep working on his dream of succeeding at the Santiago Bernabeu: "Nobody will take away my dream of succeeding at Madrid. My objective is to stay here but when the season ends I will make a decision on my future.

"It’s not easy to leave a club where you are a key starter and you soon realise how good the players are here. My dream growing up was to play for Madrid and I will work hard so that one day my name is remembered in the club."
