The Portuguese star didn't attend UEFA's event yesterday afternoon after he found out he wouldn't win 'Player of the Year' award

Cristiano Ronaldo won the 'Best Forward' award at UEFA's joint Champions League draw and awards ceremony yesterday evening. However the Portuguese star didn't appear in person and instead watched the show from home. The reason he stayed away from Monaco was because he found out he wasn't going to win the 'Player of the Year' award and that it'd go to Luka Modric instead. Jorge Mendes didn't waste long in calling the decision "ridiculous" in yet another show of support to his sensitive client.

Cristiano's sister, Katia, also launched her own support - and attack on Modric - via Instagram. She compared the stats of the two then-Real Madrid players to prove why her brother deserved to win. You know, instead of praising the Croatian star for how well he plays the game, that he's respectful of others and thanks to his wonderful displays helped make Cristiano shine even brighter.

cristiano's ego problems run in the family

They compared the overall numbers for: matches played, goals, assists and player of month awards. But surprisingly there was no comparision for passes (both good and bad), losses of possession, distance covered and interceptions. This shows that the egotistic issues which Cristiano suffers from must run in the family. Overbearing and arrogant, they've fled LaLiga to lower the tension amongst Madrid fans and taken themselves to Turin.

There now won't be any ugly gestures or a player failing to celebrate with his teammates. That'll happen in Juventus. Even his 'friend', Sergio Ramos, didn't know why Cristiano failed to appear at the show. "I don't know if he didn't come because he wasn't going to win, that's a question for him. He can do what he wants, it's his life."
