Cristiano Ronaldo's late start in danger of becoming a poor start

Alavés-Real Madrid (1-2): Cristiano no fue capaz de marcar / | LALIGA

Ronaldo missed the first four league games through suspension

Since returning he has failed to score in two successive Liga matchs

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has not started the season well. After completing a five game ban for being sent off in the Spanish Super Cup, the Portugal international seems anxious on the pitch, which is holding him back from hitting his best form. You only have to look at the statistics: he’s still not scored in La Liga this season.

His anguish is evident and it’s getting the better of him. Ronaldo has had 20 shots in his two league appearances, against Real Betis and Alaves, but he’s been unable to score, a situation he’s not familiar with.

RUSH

Ronaldo’s not having much luck between the posts -- at Mendizorroza he hit the woodwork twice -- and is paying for being in a hurry, passes which don’t reach him or are poorly made, a lack of shooting accuracy and the fact he’s not playing with a pure No.9 (Karim Benzema is injured) as he likes.

You only have to remember that his never taken him so long to open his account in La Liga. His worst tally with Madrid was last season, when he scored just one goal in the opening seven games. He played in four go them. In exchange, his best season was 2-14/15, when he scored 10 in six rounds, playing five games.
