President of the union at Spain's tax authority Carlos Cruzado spoke about the case

The Madrid forward would have to be given over two years in order to serve time

Carlos Cruzado, the president of the union at Spain's tax authority (Gestha), has said on Tuesday that Cristiano Ronaldo's crimes against the tax office could come with a prison sentence of "between two and six years."

In comments made to Cadena Ser's La Graderia, Cruzado analysed Tuesday's developments and said that ""if they are aggravated crimes, the sentence could even reach seven years."

In his opinion, "the crimes from 2012, 2013 and 2014 could be aggravated crimes (voluntary and conscious), so the penalty could be from two up to six years." Cruzado said that it is possible that "the penalty could be more than two years, which is the minimum for actually serving a prison sentence."

Equally, the president of the union at Spain's tax authority also spoke about Lionel Messi's case and stressed that the numbers involved with Ronaldo "are superior" to those in the Barcelona forward's case, but "it is only one fiscal crime more."
