The Los Blancos stopper was with Belgium but he shall retun to Madrid

Real Madrid's Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will return to Madrid after Belgian medics decided he cannot face the Ivory Coast in a friendly tonight.

"Thibaut Courtois will leave the camp after his medical check-up, he is not fit to play," said the Belgian football federation on Twitter.

Courtois has muscle pain in his back. They don't want to take risks with him so would rather he rests in Madrid.

In the September international break something similar happened with the 28 year old. He left the camp and went back to Spain. Then it was with an "agreement with his club" and "not for medical reasons".

Belgian media had reported he was corona positive but he later gave a negative test.

Belgium face England on Oct 11 and then Iceland on Oct 15 in the Nations League. Courtois is expected to be fit to face Cadiz on October 18.
