Controversy between Isco and Lopetegui after substitution

Isco and Julen Lopetegui have been involved in the Real Madrid circus this week. The midfielder came out in a press conference on Monday and blamed the whole squad for the team's current situation. It was taken as a clear defence of under-fire coach Lopetegui, although their relationship could have changed after Tuesday's game against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League. 

In the 54th minute, Lopetegui decided to remove Isco and replace him with Fede Valverde. For many, it was a change with the Clasico in mind on Sunday. But Isco did not see it that way. The midfielder showed his discontent at the decision and didn't shake hands with him coach. In addition, he covered his mouth with his hand and muttered some words to Lopetegui. 

Only those two will know what was said but the coach was asked about it after the game. "If Isco has said anything? I don't know if he said naything or not, I don't give it any important. I am not angry." With these comments, Lopetegui further enhanced the rumours that the relationship between the duo is broken.
