The coach selected a strong side to face Real Betis on Friday night, getting the team that Ancelotti might start into optimal shape ahead of the game in eight days time.

The only conspicuous absentee was David Alaba, who is returning from injury and so was not risked.

The team Ancelotti selected is: Courtois, Carvajal, Militao, Nacho, Mendy, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Rodrygo, Vinicius and Benzema.

Camavinga and Valverde on the bench are two players who might be hoping to earn a start against Liverpool.
