Real Madrid were expected to have a free run at the Tottenham Hotspur playmaker but the German giants won't make it easy

Bayern Munich are interested in Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen. According to 'Sport1', the Germain giants are willing to challenge Real Madrid for the playmaker's signature in the January transfer window. Eriksen is reportedly open to making the switch to the Bundesliga.

The 27-year-old Danish international has less than a year to run on his existing deal and Madrid, after turning the player down in the summer, are now said to be interested as his asking price will be much lower.

Eriksen has told Spurs he has no intentions of signing a new contract and is happy to leave on a free transfer should Spurs refuse to sell before then. After six years in North London, the midfielder wants a different challenge. Tottenham will hope this added competition could spark a bidding war in January to avoid losing him for nothing.
