Allegri apparently has an agreement in place which would allow him to leave if an important job was offered to him

Massimiliano Allegri, the Italian coach who currently manages Juventus, is now the frontrunner to take over from Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid next season.

Madrid have contacted him to see if he'd be willing to take over, according to 'Tuttosport', and the response was positive. Allegri was behind Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp on the list of candidates for the job but both Tottenham and Liverpool respectively have refused to let them go.

Allegri has a contact with Juventus until 2020 and this means Real Madrid would need to negotiate with the Turin outfit, although the two clubs are on good terms with each other.

The Italian coach, who is 50, arrived at Juventus in 2014. During that time he's achieved a Serie A and cup double in each of those four seasons in charge.

RESPECTED IN EUROPE

Allegri has also made Juventus shine in Europe and made them one of the most feared across the continent. They've played in two Champions League finals, both of which resulted in losses to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, but they are the only team to knock out Real Madrid of the knockout stages of the same competition during his time at Turin. This stopped Los Blancos from winning five consecutive Champions League titles.

There's a verbal agreement between Allegri and Juventus that he can leave if an offer too good to refuse comes his way. He feels that the cycle of this current Juventus team is at an end and it needs an overhaul going forward. An offer from Real Madrid would have to be considered by his current employers. The Italian has won everything but the Champions League and Madrid would offer him the chance to complete that objective.

At Juventus they are confident they can keep hold of their coach, so say 'Tuttosport', a newspaper with close ties to the Turin giants. No release clause exists in his contact either. Back in May the club met with Allegri and he agreed to continue at Juventus and began making plans for next season's squad. However the opportunity to manage Real Madrid wasn't available at that time.
