Alaves president not happy about Madrid's Theo Hernandez move

Josean Querejeta was surprised to learn Theo had undergone a medical

He hopes it doesn't rock the boat ahead of the cup final later this month

Alaves president Josean Querejeta is furious that the Basque club have been kept out of the loop regarding Theo Hernandez's alleged move to Real Madrid.

Theo is spending the season on loan at Alaves from Atletico Madrid and on Monday Marca reported that the left-back had undergone a medical ahead of a transfer to Madrid this summer.

"We didn't know anything, we had no idea," Querejeta told El Transistor on Onda Cero. "We learned through the press that he has passed a medical [with Madrid].

"I have not spoken with [Theo]. We have a good relationship with Madrid, but it seems strange to us that he's passed a medical. It's surprised us that no-one has told us anything about a player that's at our club."

Barcelona had also been interested in Theo and they will play Alaves in the Copa del Rey final on May 27, an important game which Querejeta hopes won't be affected by this transfer saga.

"Everything we know is through rumours," he continued. "No-one, not Barça, not Madrid, not Atletico has spoken with us about this.

"It doesn't help keep things calm and balanced ahead of such an important game on May 27, when we play in the cup final."
