Real Madrid could meet Barcelona in Clasico Champions League semi

If the two teams make it that far, they will meet in the semifinals in Lisbon

Friday's Champions League draw threw up the possibility of a Clasico semifinal in Lisbon if both Real Madrid and Barcelona do their homework before then.

Madrid travel to Manchester City next month tasked with turning around a 2-1 first-leg defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu to make the quarterfinals, which will all be played as one-off games in Portugal.

If they manage to get past Pep Guardiola's side, they will play either Juventus or Lyon in the last eight. Juve drew 1-1 in Lyon and the second leg will be played in Turin.

The semifinal, if Madrid get past those hurdles, would then throw up the chance of a Clasico, if Barça can progress from their games, too.

Quique Setien's side first have to overcome Napoli (they drew 1-1 in Italy and have the second leg at Camp Nou) and then face the prospect of either Bayern Munich or Chelsea in Lisbon -- the Germans won the first leg 3-0.

It's is far from a gimme but it is on the table. Zinedine Zidane's side, who are one point clear of Barça in La Liga ahead of their game against Alaves on Friday, could end up taking on Setien's men in the last four.
