He looks set to wear the PSG shirt for the first time next weekend

Mauricio Pochettino had initially left the door open for Leo Messi to make his PSG debut in this Friday's fixture against Stade Brestois, but it looks like fans will have to wait another week to see the Argentina star play for his new club.

Messi, despite training successfully on Thursday without any physical problems or complaints, will need to wait another week before making his debut for his new side, with his head coach not wanting to take any risks.

Leo has only trained a few times with his new team mates, completing his first session last Thursday. Pochettino, who places a heavy focus on fitness and running, would prefer the player to have another week of training under his belt before featuring in his first competitive match for PSG.

Messi's debut, in which he will don the number 30 shirt, will have to wait until Sunday 29 August in an away tie against Stade de Reims.
