The Arsenal manager says both could be sold in January

Neither player has a contract with the club beyond next summer

Arsenal have considered the sales of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the winter transfer window, according to Arsene Wenger, who admitted the difficulties in renewing the deals of both players, who are out of contract in the summer.

"It's possible," the Arsenal coach said about the chances of the duo being sold. "In our situation, we have considered every outcome," he added, with little desire to expand on the subject.

Alexis, who is doubt for this weekend's game against Watford as he returns from Chile duty, has rejected a new contract with the club and his eventual departure is consisdered a given.

Arsenal coach Wenger remains confident of convincing Ozil to stay

The former Barcelona forward has been the subject of interest from Manchester City, who tried to sign him in January, while he has also been linked in recent weeks with Paris Saint-Germain, too.

Wenger is aware that Alexis will leave but he still maintains hope with Ozil. "As I understand it he wants [to stay]," expressed the French coach when asked about the German midfielder, with an agreement over new terms needed before the end of the season.

"We don't have a fixed date to decide," Wenger added, who was reluctant to talk about the future of both players despite the constant questions.

In recent weeks, Ozil has been linked with a move to Manchester United, where he would be reunited with his former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, while Barcelona and Madrid have also been linked in passing.
