The Portuguese coach is disappointed with the way things are run

Jose Mourinho is not happy with the situation at Manchester United. The coach was left unsatisfied with the club's efforts in the transfer market and his relationship with the club's hierarchy has deteriorated.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Portuguese would have quite by now if he was working any where other than Old Trafford.

"Any other job at any other club and I would have quit," he is supposedly have said to have confided to a close friend.

His tense relationship with vice president Ed Woodward is one of the problems. The lack of transfer activity disappointed Mourinho and left United in a tough spot when it comes to competing with Manchester City in the league, let alone making an assault on the Champions League.

Mourinho wanted his defence improved with targets such as Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire. Neither arrived, though, and the only defender brought in was right-back Diogo Dalot, who arrived injured.

United spent less than clubs such as Everton and West Ham this summer. It's a marked difference from other years at the club, when they've invested more than most of their rivals.
