The priority for Man City is a defensive midfielder and a winger

Pep Guardiola knows what he wants. The priority is to sign a defensive midfielder for Manchester City, as Fernandinho has no clear back-up.

Less still with Yaya Toure leaving, although he played in a more advanced role in the games where he did feature for City.

Fernandinho is 33 and has a very physical role to balance out the team's play, so he needs support.

The other priority is to bring in a winger. Pep finished the season with a 4-1-4-1, after starting with a 3-5-2. In the winter window they were close to signing Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez but eventually Leicester pulled out of the deal. City may try again this summer.

Isco is not a target, despite recent stories. The English side are working on other options. City think that Isco's agent leaked that story because Bale has had more protagonism recently.

City already have players of that profile in midfield, Kevin de Bruyne, David Silva, Gundogan.
