Sergio Aguero will be operated on in Barcelona this week

Leonel del Castillo, Kun Aguero's dad, confirmed the Man City forward suffered a meniscus injury against Burnley in a 5-0 win on Monday night. Pep Guardiola admitted "it didn't look good" and took him off.

Kun's father told Radio La Red that he had had knee problems during the week and "today he will have a scan and they will see how severe the injury is. I calculate that on Thursday or Friday he will be operated on in Barcelona, where he was last time."

That last time came before the 2018 World Cup in Russia when he flew to Barcelona to have an operation on his left knee, the same one that he has hurt now. 

Now his target is to get back to play in the Champions League final phase in August. 

"He feels fine," said Kun's dad. "The medics knew that at any moment what happened to him could have happened. After the operation he will be in Barcelona for five or six days and then will come to Manchester to recover. He said he wanted to do it now so he can get back for the Champions League."
