Owen: "With Klopp or Guardiola, Pogba would be one of the world's best players"
The former footballer launched an attack on Mourinho and Conte for not getting the best out of Pogba
Paul Pogba has one foot out of the door at Manchester United and the rumours about his future only continue to grow. His irregular form, alongside the never ending criticism from Jose Mourinho, has seen the midfielder pushed towards the exit door. However former United striker, Michael Owen, has no doubt as to who is to blame for the situation.
No one can deny Pogba's quality, he helped France win the World Cup in the summer, but his performances for United have been below par nearly all season.
“I think the manager has to take some of the blame – the system, the way he plays,” Owen told 'BT Sport'. “If he was playing under a Guardiola or a Klopp or someone like that I think we'd be looking at certainly one of the best few players in the world, but at the moment we can't say that.”
"“I'm of the opinion that he is totally world-class playing in a certain team in a certain way," he explained.
Owen also took at aim Antonio Conte, who was the coach at the time Pogba broke into the first team at Juventus, as Pogba's game still isn't polished enough. "It is frustrating when you watch him because he still looks like a 16 or 17-year-old learning the game."
