Nike and Chelsea agree new mega-money kit deal after Blues ditch Adidas

Nike and Chelsea have reached a deal that will see the Blues make nearly 900 million euros over the next 15 years

Premier League side Chelsea have reached a big deal with American sports manufacturer Nike, for around 72 million euros a season across the next 15 years.

It nearly doubles the 38m a season they were earning from Adidas, a deal they paid nearly 50m euros to break from in order to secure this new option with the German company’s main rival.

“This is an incredibly exciting and important deal for the club,” said director Marina Granovskaia.

“Like Chelsea, Nike is known around the world for its excellence and innovation and we look forward to working together in what is sure to be a successful partnership. We believe Nike will be able to support our growth into new markets as well as helping us maintain our place among the world’s elite football clubs.”

Trevor Edwards, president of the Nike brand, added: “Chelsea is a world-class club with a rich tradition and passionate fans across the globe. The partnership with Chelsea reinforces our leadership position in football. We are excited to help grow the club’s global reach, serving players and supporters with Nike innovation and design.”
