The Belgian star wants to have the same treatment as the Brazilian

De Bruyne needs to negotiate a new deal with the Premier League side

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is about to begin talks over a new deal with the Premier League club.

It may not be straightforward, though, if we keep in mind the reports that have appeared regarding the Belgian's intentions. De Bruyne wants to have the same treatment at Neymar, according to The Telegraph.

De Bruyne's agent will go into talks with City asking for the same as Neymar receives at PSG. The midfielder wants to take advantage of his good form to pocket a substantial wage rise. The 26-year-old joined the club in 2015 on a six-year deal and is now thinking of improved terms.

At the moment, De Bruyne, according to The Telegraph, earns six million pounds, which, including variables, could go as high as 15.6 million pounds per year. However, the report claims he wants to get close to the 32 million pounds Brazil ace Neymar is paid by Paris Saint-Germain.

Patrick De Koster, De Bruyne's agents, admitted that Neymar's salary could be used as a tool.

"In the coming months, I will meet with City to see how to improve and extend [De Bruyne's] contract," he said to Radio CRC in Italty. "His salary? I can't say anything. But if you see what Neymar and Mbappe are being paid, you can imagine..."
