The former Spain and Barcelona coach is ready to take over at the Bridge

Former Spain coach Luis Enrique is set to become Chelsea's new manager in the coming hours, according to Jijantes.

After his sacking at the helm of La Roja, the coach could, if his appointment is confirmed, find a new post in London.

Chelsea, who sacked Graham Potter, are eleventh in the Premier League standings with 39 points and 11 points off the Champions League places, currently held by Manchester United on 50 points.

Luis Enrique, who was one of the options being considered by the club along with Julian Nagelsmann, has travelled to London today to close the deal with his close friend, Ivan de La Peña, who is managing the negotiations with the club.

The former Barça and AS Roma player will arrive in a highly demanding dugout: with the arrival of the new owners, Chelsea bet on Graham Potter at the helm and he has only lasted a few months as he did not get the results or football he needed.

The situation in the Premier League is particularly critical and in the Champions League they will face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, starting on April 12 at the Bernabeu.
