Liverpool lose Coutinho to what looks like a serious injury
The Brazilian was carried off on a stretcher in his side's game against Sunderland on Saturday
Brazilian forward Philippe Coutinho has picked up what seems like a serious injury during Liverpool’s Premier League game against Sunderland at Anfield.
With half an hour gone, Coutinho went down following a challenge from Didier N'Dong. He immediately signalled to the bench and was taken off on a stretcher and replaced by Divock Origi.
Coutinho's right foot was placed in a protective splint, which will be of great concern to fans of the Premier League club.
The 24-year-old has been in great form this season and is attracting interest from all over Europe. Barça are among the club credited with an interest in him, while Paris Saint-Germain are also keen.
Given the start to the season made by Jurgen Klopp’s side, they will be desperate not to lose Coutinho for any length of time given their push for the Premier League title.
