How the Man Utd players used Messi to 'wind up' Cristiano Ronaldo

Peter Crouch has revealed in a column in the Daily Mail what used to happen in the Manchester United dressing room when Cristiano Ronaldo played for the Red Devils. 

According to Crouch, Rio Ferdinand, Ronaldo's team-mate at the time, told him about the Juventus player's behaviour in the dressing room and how his colleagues would wind him up when he boasted about his looks. 

"Ferdinand would tell us stories about how Cristiano Ronaldo would stand in front of the mirror naked, running his hand through his hair, and say, 'Wow. I'm so beautiful!,'" the English striker revealed. 

To try and ease his ego, the other United players would respond to Ronaldo by saying: "Whatever, Leo Messi is a better player than you."

However, Ronaldo would have none of it, Crouch added: "He would shrug his shoulders and smile again. 'Ah yes. But Messi does not look like this.'"

Ronaldo joined Juve from Real Madrid this summer but he's not yet scored for the Italian team since making a €100 million move.
