The Manchester United coach will speak with Ronaldo about what happened

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag will deal with Cristiano Ronaldo after the striker headed down the tunnel while his side's match with Tottenham was ongoing.

Ronaldo, 37, left the bench for the dressing room in the 89th minute of his side's 2-0 win after being an unused substitute.

"I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We are now celebrating this victory," said Ten Hag. "I have seen him, but I haven't spoken with him."

Ronaldo, who wanted to leave United in the summer, has started just six games this season, although four of those have been in the Europa League and only two in the Premier League, where he has come off the bench on six occasions.

In total, he has scored two goals in all competitions and is having to conform to a new bit-part role under Ten Hag.
