The Real Sociedad defender is a Man City target

City will also return for Arsenal forward Alexis

Pep Guardiola knows he cannot relax despite Manchester City's fine start to the season. The Catalan coach wants to add a few touched to his squad due to the injury problems he has.

One of the areas which has been most affected is in defence. Otamendi and Stones are playing well but they have no guaranteed backups, with Kompany often injured and Mangala inconsistent. Therefore, Guardiola is thinking of signing Iñigo Martinez. The Real Sociedad centre-back was close to signing for Barcelona last summer.

Martinez is available for 32 million euros -- his release clause. La Real made it clear in the summer they would not reduce the cost for Barça. So if City want the Spanish defender, they know what they have to pay.

As well as Martinez, Guardiola still wants Alexis Sanchez. The City coach tried to sign the Chilean last summer but the move didn't go through. However, after the injury to Gabriel Jesus, Guardiola's asked for Sanchez to be signed immediately and not next summer, when he's available for free as his contract expires.

The Sun report the price for the two players would be over 50 million euros, but Arsenal wanted that alone for Sanchez in the summer. Either way, both would improve City's already excellent squad.
