Mikel Arteta is in talks with Arsenal over the chance to replace Arsene Wenger this summer after key figures at Manchester City blessed his departure.
Arsenal have singled out Arteta, a former player at the Emirates, as the man they want to coach them next season but before starting talks made contact with the relevant people at City.
After that, there was a more personal meeting between Tkiki Beguiristain, Pep Guardiola and Arteta to discuss the latter's future.
Arteta, currently Guardiola's No.2, spoke of his desire to take the opportunity and City have given him the green light to negotiate with the London-based side.
