Guardiola: I'm a manager to play these kinds of games on the biggest stages
The Man City boss spoke ahead of the Manchester derby
City are top and United are second going into the game
Pep Guardiola spoke to the press ahead of Sunday's derby against Manchester United, a match which pits the Premier League's top two sides against each other.
“I am a manager to play these kinds of games on the biggest stages," the Manchester City coach said about the game at Old Trafford. "That’s why we are here.
“I will enjoy it, definitely. I am looking forward to arriving and playing. I love to be there, working out what we can do to beat them. After we shake hands.
"Both managers [Guardiola and Jose Mourinho] and clubs have more time together. Both teams arrive really well to this match."
The former Barça coach said of United: “When you face the big teams, it demands a little bit more.
“They defend well. It is so complicated to score against them but the target is to try. They also create chances -- Martial, Lingard, Rashford, Lukaku -- they are dangerous players.
“When you play big teams, if you don’t give the best of yourself it is impossible to beat them.”
Guardiola confirmed that David Silva will be back for the match, although captain Vincent Kompany remains a doubt.
