The Nice midfielder almost moved to Barcelona in the summer

Now two Premier League teams want to sign him in January

Manchester City and Liverpool are ready to go head-to-head for an old Barcelona target, Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

According to the Daily Mail, the two Premier League clubs want to strengthen in January and have singled out Seri, who is also of interest to Paris Saint-Germain.

Barça made a move for Seri in the summer and offered Nice 40 million euros for him but in the end they did not sign the Ivory Coast international.

As well as Nice's reluctance to sell, there were arguments within Barça about whether to push ahead with the deal.

Seri, 26, has a contract until 2019 and will once again be on people's lips in January when the transfer window opens with clubs identifying him as an option.

However, Seri has said his intention is to finish the season with Nice, who he has played 17 games for (one goal, four assists) in the current campaign.
