The Aston Villa coach is keen to make the Brazilian's move from Barça permanent

Steven Gerrard said if it was his money he would sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona for €40 million after another match-winning performance.

Coutinho's fourth goal in his seventh Premier League start for Villa helped Gerrard's side beat relegation threatened Leeds United 3-0 on Thursday.

The Brazilian is on loan from Barça until the end of the season, when the Premier LEague club have a €40m option to make the move permanent.
