The goalkeeper has been named player of the year at United for the fourth time in five seasons

It's clear that David de Gea is one of the only pieces of good news for Manchester United fans in the last few seasons. The goalkeeper saves the team time and time again. That's why he has been given the Sir Matt Busby award again, for United's player of the season, chosen by the fans.

De Gea took 67 per cent of the vote. Jesse Lingard got 10 per cent and Lukaku 8 per cent.

De Gea has now won the award in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018. He has overtaken Cristiano Ronaldo, who won it three times - 2004, 2007, 2008.

The United player is also close to winning the golden glove in the Premier LEague, for the keeper who keeps the most clean sheets. He has 17, while his main rival, Man City's Ederson, has 15.
