Big twist in Marco Verratti's future as giants come knocking

Marco Verratti is a player who still retains star status, and he has two European giants on his trail. Beyond the seemingly definite interest from another Saudi football billionaire club, Al-Ahli, there is still time for him to continue competing at the highest level. 

Although the Italian has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Al-Hilal, the Saudi club must reach an agreement with PSG for his transfer, so it is not definitively closed. That is why Bayern Munich are still interested in him, and now there is a new player in the bidding: according to 'L'Équipe', Manchester United are ready to match the Bavarian side's proposal.

The Parisians have already turned down a €30m bid for the 30-year-old midfielder from Al-Hilal as it was deemed insufficient, as they expect to receive at least €50m for his transfer. While it looks like Al-Ahli of former Premiership players Firmino, Mahrez and Édouard Mendy will match that offer, Manchester United are willing to meddle in the deal. 

Erik Ten Hag's side need to reinforce their midfield with a new midfielder, as after the departure of Fred the next to leave could be Scott McTominay, who is close to agreeing a deal with David Moyes' West Ham. Among the candidates, Marco Verratti seems the best suited to join the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen as star reinforcements. 

Be that as it may, the PSG player (although he has not played in either of the first two league games) must decide between continuing to compete at the highest level in Europe or jumping on the liner of Saudi football and ending his career at the elite level altogether. A talent like Verratti does not deserve to end at the top so soon.
