Fellaini has extended his Old Trafford stay by an additional two years

Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini, currently at the World Cup in Russia, has signed a new contract with Manchester United for the next two years, the club confirmed on Friday.

Fellaini, 30, signed for United in 2013 and has since played in 156 games for the club, scoring 20 goals.

During his time at Old Trafford he has won the FA Cup, the League Cup, the Europa League and the Community Shield.

"I am delighted to continue my time at Manchester United," Fellaini said. "I took this decision because I am really happy here.

"I feel like this is a team with a lot of things to achieve."

United coach Jose Mourinho said he was "really happy" that Fellaini decided to stay, despite having offers to move elsewhere.

"I alway believed in his desire to stay here," Mourinho added in comments to United's official website.
