Atletico president confirms Pochettino doesn't want Joao Felix at Chelsea

Felix has been on loan at Stamford Bridge but will return to Atletico Madrid this summer

Bad news for Atlético Madrid. Chelsea, more specifically their new coach Mauricio Pochettino, does not want Joao Felix to extend his loan at Stamford Bridge.

This was confirmed by Atlético president Enrique Cerezo at the Complutense University of Madrid on Tuesday.

"Yesterday (Monday) we got the news that the new Chelsea coach is not counting on Joao Felix".

It represents a big problem for Atlético and their sporting planning, which counted on the transfer of the Portuguese to the English team for 100 million euros to be able to put together an ambitious squad for next season.

And it is also a problem for the Portuguese forward himself, who wanted to stay at Stamford Bridge, and above all for Diego Simeone, who does not have Felix in his plans, as he made clear when he facilitated his departure in January.

Moreover, as of today, there is no club interested in the Portugal international, at least in the economic terms in which Atletico would like to transfer him to recover their investment of 120 million euros.

With a contract until 2027, Atletico are faced with a difficult task, which forces them to look for a new destination for him, but with the disadvantage that after an irregular season, his value has not been increased.
