Emery has left Villarreal and will join Premier League side Villa on Nov. 1
Aston Villa have confirmed the surprise appointment of Unai Emery as the club's new coach on Monday after the dismissal of Steven Gerrard.
Villarreal boss Emery will take over at Villa Park on Nov. 1 for what will be his second stint in the Premier League after his time with Arsenal.
Villa will pay the release clause in Emery's contract to bring him to the club, which is close to €6 million. He could earn as much as €7m a year at the Midlands club.
The Premier League has called for Emery before. Newcastle United were keen to appoint him last season but he turned them down to stay at Villarreal.
During his time with Villarreal, he won the Europa League, the club's first ever trophy, and took them to the semifinal of last season's Champions League, losing to Liverpool.

He was in charge for the weekend's win over Almeria and also on Thursday at Camp Nou, when Villarreal lost 3-0, but he will now head to England.
