Arsenal complete the €80m signing of Nicolas Pépé from Lille
The winger becomes the most expensive signing in Arsenal's history after scoring 22 goals last season
Arsenal and Lille have announced this Thursday that Nicolas Pepe has switched Ligue 1 for the Premier League. The Ivory Coast winger has joined Unai Emery's side for €80m.
"For the club, it's an honour to see one of our players join one of the best teams in Europe and pull on the mythical 'Gunners' shirt. He's a person with values who has no equal. He'll leave the Pierre Mauroy stadium but will always be welcomed back. They'll remember an efficient, spectacular player who generated a lot of emotions."
That statement hailed the 24-year-old Pepe who has scored 37 goals in 80 appearances for Lille. He's been handed the number '19' shirt at Arsenal.
