Ansu Fati will have to battle for his minutes at Brighton

Ansu Fati experienced firsthand what it means to make your debut in the Premier League. Playing in the most competitive league in the world is not easy, even for a talent like Ansu. And in the Manchester United-Brighton clash, Old Trafford was his first test in a completely different language. 

The young Brighton and Barca youngster came on in the 64th minute, replacing Adam Lallana. At that point, his side had already taken the lead twice and the game was more than over. Even so, Ansu had enough time to show his qualities and seal the three points with another goal that came from his boots. 

In the creation of Joao Pedro's goal, Ansu makes a perfect run to the far post to drag a United defender away and create the perfect space for the Brazilian's shot. Beyond that good move, he had the chance to score his first goal in a one-on-one with Onana that was tipped just wide.

However, the reality is that the Barca loanee is going to have to fight hard to earn a place in Roberto De Zerbi's eleven. Brighton's display at Old Trafford shows that his team-mates are made of different steel and have already got a grasp on shining at the highest level on the biggest stage. 

It is still too early to say for sure, and it remains to be seen how he progresses in his adaptation to Premier League football. It will also depend on his fitness to be able to display his full attacking potential and offer his best qualities to the team. Seeing him up front with Mitoma, March and Evan Ferguson is a very appetising scenario.

Next on the calendar for the Seagulls is their Europa League opener next Thursday against AEK Athens, three days before they face Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth at home. Competing in Europe will also be a positive incentive for Ansu, who will have the opportunity to test himself in another competition, with more chances to play.
