FC Barcelona and Juventus announce that Pjanic will move to the Camp Nou, whilst Arthur will go to Turin

Now it's official. FC Barcelona have completed one of the most complex transfers in their history. Arthur Melo will join Juventus in a deal that will also see Miralem Pjanic swap Turin for Barcelona.

Only the finishing touches were needed to complete the agreement and both clubs have now signed the respective transfers off. Pjanic and Arthur successfully passed medicals with their new clubs on Sunday before penning their contracts.

It brings to an intense week to an end for Arthur. The Brazilian arrived in Turin on Saturday night to finalise his part of the transfer. He then took a private plane back to Barcelona. On his trip to Italy, Arthur was accompanied by his agents as well as Barça doctor Xavier Yanguas, who went over to perform tests on Pjanic.

After both players passed their medicals, they signed long-term contracts with their respective new clubs. Arthur will now be one of the top earners at Juventus, earning €5m per season as well as another €5m in objectives. This could see the Brazilian earn up to €10m per season.

Pjanic has signed a four-year deal and will earn the same salary he did at Juventus: €8m per season. He'll return in Italy until the end of the current campaign.

Both clubs will need to present the deals before the 30th June so that they can be included in the 2019/20 accounts. Arthur is valued at €70m and Pjanic at €60m. This means the Italian giants will give Barça €10m so that both teams end up making a profit.
